Dr. Dennis Govoni has been doing nature photography for over 50 years. He is a trained biologist and botanist and started his photographicjourney in the great state of West Virginia while an undergraduate at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. His photographic interests are in macro, landscape and wildlife photography with an occasional dappling in non-nature photography of interesting subjects related to architecture, history and general scenic subjects.
He has also been a primary photographer for a children’s book series, “Exploring Wildlife Series” (http://www.a-childs-book.com) and has a published image in the digital magazine, Photography Week, as well as being a contributor to a smartphone application on national wildlife
He is a regular Getty Image Contributor where his images are used around the world by various news agencies and corporations.
He has also done presentations and seminars at camera clubs in Virginia and West Virginia. He is currently a member of the Northern Virginia
In 2016, he was the winner in the Wildlife category with his image, “Skimmers at Work” in The Nature Conservancy’s Internationally known annual photo contest.
