  • Saturday, November 19, 2016
  • 2 Sessions available - see Schedule
  • Occoquan Hall - Frog/Flower Workshop Room
  • Audience: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
  • Price: $50

Come learn how to better control your background and the softness and sharpness of your subject to add impact to your flower photographs. The creative use of aperture can result in some wonderful soft focus flowers, as well as some amazingly sharp photographs.

Lisa and Tom will work with participants for the duration of the workshop, exploring background choice, obtaining optimal exposure, adding impact, composition, creating high key images using a lightbox, and capturing flowers in water drops using RainX. They will also cover the use of sharpness/softness as it relates to aperture, depth of field, and impact; focus stacking; creative in-camera techniques; multiple exposure; tripod use (we highly recommend the Vanguard 263AT), plane of field, lens choice, extension tubes, lighting, and other tips.

This workshop suitable for photographers of any skill level. In addition to your camera, memory card, tripod and fully charged batteries, please bring a macro lens if you have one (a 70-200 lens with an extension tube also works well), extension tubes (optional), focus rail (optional), diffuser, reflector, and LED light (we recommend the Savage Luminous Pro LED Video Light).
