Angela Goodhart is a professional photographer in Northern VA, specializing in contemporary portraiture of families, children, and high school seniors.

Two years ago, Angela Goodhart went from hobbyist photographer to professional portrait photographer. As a hobbyist, she pushed herself creatively and technically with flickr groups and the Loudoun Photo Club.  Launching Goodhart Photography in November 2009 was a leap of faith, but two years later she is still energized and rewarded by the creative challenges of photographing clients and running a legitimate business.

Photography is a highly competitive industry, and Angela is continually honing her skills with specialized workshops and training seminars, including those taught by David Ziser, Joe McNally, and Kirk VoClain, among others. Understanding lighting and posing are critical to capturing a client’s unique beauty. But owning a photography business is much more than what happens behind the camera.  The digital developing of images, and the day to day aspects of running a legitimate business take up far more of her time than actually working with a client.

When she is not working on her business, she is raising her three children, pointing her camera at things rather than people, or reading a good book.

In 2010, she was awarded Photographer of the Year by the Loudon Photo Club. She is also a member of the Professional Photographers of America, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, and the United Professional Portrait Photographers Association.
