Thank you to everyone who helped make this contest a success. If you would like to participate in next year’s contest as a student or, if you’re an educator who can spread the word, please give us your email address if we don’t have it already. Just complete and submit the form that is to the right and below.
All ten finalists will receive three free passes per student (one for the student and two for their guests) to attend the Expo awards ceremony and keynote address, Photographing the American Southwest, by Tom Till, on Saturday November 19 at 4:30 pm at the Hylton Center for Performing Arts in Manassas, Virginia. The ten student finalists will be acknowledged and the winning image will be announced along with the adult winners during the awards ceremony prior to the keynote address. The Grand Prize winner will receive $300 and a trip with Road Runner Photography Tours, worth $700, for two to Cape May or West Virginia. The nine other finalists will receive $100 each. It should be a great evening!
Online sales and registration for other FREE and paid presentations begin on August 1.
Many thank you’s go to our judge, Nikhil Bahl, and to our contest co-sponsor, Road Runner Photography Tours.
The student contest’s grand prize is named for our late friend, Bill Prosser. A volunteer for over twenty years at McLean High School’s photography program, a founder and longtime member of the McLean Photography Club, and a leader and longtime member of the Northern Virginia Photographic Society, Bill was a great photographer. A three-minute video tribute to Bill, with images of his work, is here. Thanks to George Albright of the McLean Photo Club for producing it.
